Position: Head of Funding & Partnerships
Reports to: Chief Business Officer
Duty Station: Head Office.
Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for leading the strategy to raise capital, manage liquidity, and build strategic relationships with investors, financial institutions and development organizations. The role holder will also be responsible for the management of the Bank’s key strategy partners that support the implementation of Banks strategy
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certification like Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is preferred.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in corporate banking, treasury, debt capital markets, or investor relations.
- A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience.
Personal Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong negotiation and networking skills
- Excellent proposal writing and presentation skills
- Deep understanding of bank balance sheets, liquidity metrics, and capital markets.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align funding goals with the bank’s long-term growth plan.
- Strong analytical skills
- Deeply collaborative, skilled at relationship management and a strong team player.
- Experience in securing and managing large funding grants.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

- Secure debt, equity, and wholesale funding from international and local markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, multilateral development banks, and fintech partners.
- Lead the Banks annual fundraising strategy by setting clear objectives and driving income growth across diversified funding streams.
- Identify and secure new fundraising opportunities and engage new donors.
- Work with the treasury team to ensure the bank has stable and cost-effective funding sources.
- Maintain and enhance existing donor relationships and manage a diverse portfolio of funding bids, including substantial grants.
- Oversee the management of the Banks grants, ensuring compliance, delivery, and high-quality reporting.
- Lead negotiations for syndicated loans, credit lines, and strategic alliance agreements.
- Track financial market trends, interest rates, and regulatory changes to spot new funding opportunities.
- Represent the Bank in high-level meetings, events while positioning it as a key actor in the financial sector.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
