TUMU Medical Institute is a reputable Nursing and Midwifery Institute in Uganda, located in Buhweju District, Western Uganda. The Institute invites applications from suitably qualified, competent and committed individuals for the position of:

JOB TITLE: INSTITUTE ADMINISTRATOR

Duty Station: TUMU Medical Institute, Buhweju District, Western Uganda

Reports to: Executive Director

Job Summary

The Institute Administrator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day administrative, welfare, assets, facilities and logistical operations of TUMU Medical Institute. The successful candidate will ensure efficient utilization and accountability of Institute resources, proper maintenance of facilities and assets, staff and student welfare, and the smooth running of Institute operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the general administrative operations of the Institute.
  • Oversee staff and student welfare, including meals, accommodation, practicum logistics and institutional guests.
  • Supervise kitchen operations, supplies, stocks and accountability.
  • Manage and monitor Institute assets, buildings, vehicles, motorcycles, generators, office equipment and other facilities.
  • Oversee compound maintenance, cleaning, repairs, construction and general infrastructure.
  • Supervise support staff, including drivers, cleaners, compound workers and other assigned personnel.
  • Coordinate office supplies, utilities, fuel, logistics and departmental requisitions.
  • Maintain proper records and registers of institutional assets, supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate administrative and logistical activities with different departments and offices.
  • Prepare and submit regular administrative reports to management.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Key Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Female candidate aged 25–35 years is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of standard office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Highly responsible, trustworthy, proactive and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Must be willing and ready to work in a hard-to-reach area.
  • Must be willing to work extra hours, weekends and beyond normal working hours when required.
  • Must be ready to start work immediately.
  • Fluency in Runyankole is an added advantage though not essential.
  • Previous experience in administration, institutional management, and logistics or assets management will be an added advantage.

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.
