On behalf of our client in the manufacturing sector, we are looking for a skilled and competent Instrumentation technician to work on site.
Location: Mbarara
Role Summary
The overall purpose of the job is to install, configure, maintain instrumentation and control systems as well as perform general maintenance to ensure smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the dairy plant.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and valves.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and calibration, including documentation of instrumentation and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control systems, identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Calibrate and test instrumentation and control systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations, such as OSHA and ISA standards.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay current with new technologies and industry developments.
- Work with other technicians, engineers, and operations personnel to resolve technical issues and improve instrumentation and control systems.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Technical and Behavioral Competencies
- Proficient in instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and actuators. Familiarity with calibration equipment and software.
- Computer literate
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Good observation skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
