Project Assistant – Psychosocial Support
The Project Assistant will implement Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities for children and youth in Nakivale refugee settlement and neighbouring host community areas in South Western Uganda. The position involves implementation of the PSS sessions for children in collaboration with a volunteer facilitators, ensuring the activities are implemented in compliance with War Child policies and standards; monitoring of activities and reporting on activities implemented and concerns identified

Main Roles & Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, conduct and document PSS sessions for children and youth according to the War Child Holland methodology and standard.
• Support and coach-mentor project facilitators.
• Report on activities implemented and concerns identified.
• Ensure child safeguarding and incident reporting.
• Attend stakeholder meetings and represent WCH.

Qualifications, Competencies and Requirements:
• A minimum of a Diploma in Community Development, Social Work or any other relevant related field.
• Ability to write and speak English is a must
• At least 3 years of field work experience, preferably with an (I)NGO in the area of psychosocial support, child development
• Strong understanding of PSS, child protection, youth and life skills programmes.
• Good understanding of development themes such as child rights, protection gender, livelihoods and SRH.
• Good understanding of dynamics in context, politics and culture of the West Nile region and its refugee settlements.
• Knowledge of local refugee language (Congolese Kiswahili, Kinyabwisha) is desirable.

• MUST know how to ride a motorbike and have a valid license class A.

Project Officer- Education
The Project Officer-Education (CWTL) is responsible for building the technical competencies and capacities of education colleagues and school teachers implementing Can’t Wait to Learn (an innovative education technology project). The role requires day to day support to teachers while coordinating with District Education Officers.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:
• Supporting the building of knowledge and skills of staff and partners on the CWTL component
• Data collection from the tablets.
• Oversight of the tablets and head phones.
• Administration of work implemented.

Qualifications, Competencies and Requirements:
• Degree in Education or in a relevant field. Being a teacher is an added advantage.
• Should have experience in education technology.
• Strong understanding of Education programs, knowledge of psychosocial support is an added value.
• Strong IT back ground is preferred.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in teaching children in refugee setting is desired.
• Trainings in Education and Child Protection is required
• Strong skills in coaching, mentoring & facilitation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member if a team
• MUST know how to ride a motorbike and have a valid license class A.
