Background
Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client in the Oil and gas Sector, we are looking for competent, skilled, and experienced Lubricant Sales Engineer to work in Uganda.
General Activities of the Job
The Lubes Sales Engineer is responsible for driving lubricants’ sales growth by providing technical expertise, application engineering, and customer solutions. The role combines business development with technical support to ensure that customers in industrial, commercial, transport, and institutional sectors achieve optimal performance from the client’s lubricants.
Specific Activities of the Job
a) Business Development and Sales:
- Identify, pursue, and secure new industrial, commercial, and institutional accounts.
- Deliver sales targets in line with Lubricants Business Plan.
- Develop tailored lubricant solutions for customer requirements.
- Negotiate supply contracts and maintain profitable accounts.
b) Technical Support and Application Engineering:
- Conduct lubrication audits, oil analysis, and equipment surveys.
- Recommend appropriate lubricants for various applications (engines, hydraulics, manufacturing, transport, mining, etc.)
- Provide after-sales technical support and troubleshooting.
- Train customers’ maintenance teams on lubrication practices.
c) Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive engagement.
- Handle technical complaints and resolve product application issues promptly.
- Support value-added services (condition monitoring, predictive maintenance).
d) Forecasting, Collections and Compliance:
- Provide accurate monthly product demand forecasts.
- Monitor inventory to avoid stock-outs or slow-moving products.
- Ensure compliance with company credit policy and timely collections.
- Reinforce cash sales and secure credits where applicable.
e) Market Intelligence and Capability Development:
- Track competitor products, pricing, and market positioning.
- Maintain customer and prospect database with regular updates
- Contribute to marketing campaigns, promotions, and technical seminars.
- Attend trainings to enhance technical and sales capability.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications & Experiences required
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
Experience: Proven track record in industrial/commercial sales and customer technical support.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales, lubricants, or related engineering role.
Added Advantage
- Professional Certification in Lubricants, Tribology, or Marketing (e.g., STLE, CIM) is an added advantage.
