Job Summary

To ensure the hospital's buildings, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient condition to support uninterrupted healthcare service delivery.

Job Details

Preventive Maintenance

  • Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for hospital buildings, equipment, and utilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generators, water systems, and hospital infrastructure.
  • Ensure timely servicing and maintenance of hospital equipment and facilities.

Corrective Maintenance

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems within competence levels.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized repairs.

Utilities Management

  • Monitor and maintain uninterrupted supply of electricity, water, oxygen systems, and backup power sources.
  • Conduct routine generator testing and ensure adequate fuel levels are maintained.
  • Monitor utility consumption and recommend cost-saving initiatives.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Support fire safety inspections and maintenance of firefighting equipment.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.

Asset and Inventory Management

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and service schedules.
  • Monitor maintenance tools, spare parts, and supplies inventory.
  • Participate in asset verification and condition assessments.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hospital, healthcare facility, hotel, or large institution.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, generator, HVAC, and building maintenance systems.
