General Summary
The Monitoring and Evaluation officer will be support to design, implement and review of the project’s monitoring and evaluation interventions. She/he will ensure data-driven decision-making by producing high-quality evidence to support project planning, implementation, learning, and reporting. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience with data systems, and a commitment to strengthening GHS outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and operationalize M&E plans, frameworks, and tools for GHS projects in line with donor and institutional requirements.
- Set up and maintain systems for routine data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting.
- Work with the technical team to develop workplans and ensure all activities are aligned with project goals, indicators, and timelines.
- Coordinate the collection, analysis, and presentation of data to inform performance monitoring and reporting.
- Conduct routine data quality assessments and support data verification exercises.
- Generate regular monitoring reports and contribute to donor progress reports, evaluations, and presentations.
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices for internal and external dissemination.
- Facilitate reflection sessions, after-action reviews, and adaptive learning activities with project teams.
- Provide training and technical support to project teams and partners on M&E tools, data use, and reporting.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, or Numerical disciplines, or related field obtained from a chartered university. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and statistical packages such as R, Python, Stata or SAS
Person Specification
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, or Excel).
- Strong skills in report writing, and data visualization.
- Understanding of epidemic preparedness, disease surveillance, or One Health approaches is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player.
