About Us:

Acacia Foundation Limited is a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging products in Uganda, specializing in PET bottles, HDPE caps, and plastic shrink film. As we expand our Plastic Film Department, we are looking for a knowledgeable and results-oriented Plastic Film Production Manager to lead our shrink film operations.

Job Description:

The Plastic Film Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the plastic film production line, with a focus on blown film extrusion for shrink film applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background and proven experience in plastic film manufacturing, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in film extrusion environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities in the plastic film department.

• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and machine efficiency are met.

• Monitor material usage and reduce production waste through process optimization.

• Implement and enforce safety, hygiene, and operational procedures in accordance with company and ISO standards.

• Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.

• Coordinate preventive maintenance and support troubleshooting of extrusion machinery.

• Maintain accurate records of production output, raw material usage, and downtime.

• Collaborate with procurement and quality departments for raw material management and product standards compliance.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in productivity and product quality.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in plastic film extrusion, specifically blown film extrusion for shrink film production.

• Deep knowledge of extrusion machines, plastic resins (especially LDPE/PE), and film quality control parameters.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage production KPIs.

• Familiarity with ISO standards and workplace health and safety regulations.

• Good communication and reporting skills. Working Conditions:

• Full-time position based in Matugga, Wakiso District.
