The VENN department is the data and technology backbone of our organization, connecting advanced analytics and custom software tools with field implementation to ensure data-informed decision-making at every level.

Job Summary

The Data Analyst works under the Analytics Unit within the VENN department. This role is crucial for economic research, data analysis, and program evaluation. The Data Analyst will manage data, run economic models, prepare reports, and provide insights for decision-making. This position involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and measure impact.

Roles and Responsibilities

Program Monitoring (70%)

  • Design, develop, and update data collection and aggregation pipelines for Program Monitoring Reporting.
  • Prepare and develop comprehensive quarterly Master Scorecard reports and dashboards.
  • Conduct data quality checks to ensure submitted reports meet RTV’s data standards.
  • Support the training of Data Collectors on data collection methods and best practices.
  • Analyze program output/outcome reports.
  • Prepare reports showing the overview and outreach of RTV activities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to share findings and contribute to discussions on key issues from the reports.

Support & Collaboration (20%)

  • Assist in training PAs/POs and Data Collectors for AHS/SE surveys.
  • Participate in preparing evaluation values and deep-dive analysis for impact reports.
  • Support data analysis for donor reporting requests.
  • Act as a liaison between program monitoring and other units or departments within RTV.
  • Contribute to implementing the strategic work plan for program monitoring activities.
  • Support the development and updating of data collection training manuals.
  • Provide end-of-program activities reports with key stakeholders upon request.

Research (10%)

  • Conduct economic research and analyze trends to inform program interventions.
  • Research best M&E tools and practices for integration into RTV’s M&E processes.
  • Utilize econometric techniques and statistical analysis to interpret data and provide technical guidance.
  • Stay current on developments in economics and data analysis trends to identify innovation opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data management, analysis, program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and tools such as R, Python, STATA, Alteryx, and MS Excel.
  • Data visualization skills in PowerBI, Tableau, Shiny, etc., are an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on results-oriented thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
  • Experience in data lifecycle management, including collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively with changing priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Experience in participatory research and working with rural communities is advantageous.
  • Commitment to inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
