JOB DETAILS:
Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) is the leading National Humanitarian Organization in Uganda and a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (IFRC). Reports: Senior Manager Emergency Preparedness & Response
Location: URCS Headquarters with at least 30% field travel
Duration: One (1) year with possibility of renewal
Background:
The conflict in North Kivu and Ituri provinces in neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) continues. The situation remains unpredictable and complex. New arrivals are being received through three main entry points: Bunagana in Kisoro district, Busunga in Bundibugyo district and Mpondwe in Kasese district. Plans to relocate the new arrivals to Nakivaale and Rwamwanja have been operationalized.

Job Purpose:
The Operations Manager will provide leadership to personnel responsible for the DREF response operation, ensuring that these positions are coordinated in supporting URCS in delivering core services in accordance with its mandate. The incumbent will also be responsible for partner coordination and new emergency operations aspects.
