Hariss International Limited is hiring a Plastic Manager that oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization’s Plastic Manufacturing facilities, planning, coordinating, and directing all activities and processes that result in finished products. The Plastic Manager is accountable for both Plastic Production Activities and all Maintenance activities related to the Plastic Department.

Reports to: Factory Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Ensure safety of all employees working in the Plastic Department.
  • Overall responsibility for all safety aspects within the Plastic Department.
  • Compliance with all Safety Regulations of Company and Local Legislative Authorities.

Quality

  • Ensure Quality Standards in Plastic Department are adhered to.
  • Manage any OOC (Out of Control) situations.
  • Design, prepare, and record test and manufacturing methods to ensure high quality and efficiency.
  • Comply with QA requirements to assure delivery of high-quality products.
  • Ensure customer, statutory, and internal quality requirements are achieved.

Cost Management

  • Manage Cost of Manufacturing (COS) and usage variances.
  • Manage Plastic Department OPEX.
  • Support CAPEX projects within the Plastic Department.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities remain within budget.

Production & Delivery

  • Execute Plastic Production schedules as required by Planning manager.
  • Optimize utilization of manpower and equipment.
  • Manage Machine Efficiency and Factory Efficiency.
  • Plan and execute all maintenance activities in the Plastic Department.
  • Conduct routine audits of equipment and schedules.
  • Maintain production schedules and material availability.
  • Provide training on manufacturing procedures and processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and present manufacturing reports to management.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions for manufacturing issues.

Plant Maintenance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all plastic manufacturing machines and utilities are maintained in excellent working conditions to achieve maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for Husky Injection Molding Machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Monitor machine performance indicators such as efficiency, downtime, rejection rates, and utilization to achieve optimum operational performance.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize production interruptions and improve equipment lifespan.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Ensure proper spare parts planning and availability of critical machine components.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to improve machine reliability and operational stability.
  • Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring machine failures.
  • Maintain proper maintenance records and technical documentation for all equipment.
  • Optimize utilities consumption including electricity, compressed air, water, and cooling systems.
  • Promote TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement of culture within the department

Strategic and Project Scope

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across plastic manufacturing operations.
  • Support and lead CAPEX projects related to new machinery, upgrades, and process optimization.
  • Develop strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize operational costs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure alignment of production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain objectives.
  • Lead modernization and automation projects within the Plastic Department.
  • Ensure long-term sustainability and operational excellence of the Plastic Department.

People Development & Skill Improvement

  • Develop technical skills and competency levels of operators, technicians, supervisors, and junior staff through training and coaching.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement improvement plans for workforce capability enhancement.
  • Encourage employee involvement in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and safety.
  • Support succession planning and employee career development.

Beverage Operations Support

  • Support beverage operations by ensuring continuous supply of high-quality plastic materials including preforms, caps, and shrink films.
  • Ensure plastic products meet beverage filling line requirements and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate with Beverage Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to avoid material shortages.
  • Monitor and control plastic material quality to minimize line rejection and customer complaints.
  • Drive initiatives to improve packaging performance and reduce wastage.
  • Ensure timely support during production emergencies to maintain uninterrupted beverage manufacturing.

Morale (HR)

  • Lead and motivate employees to improve productivity, quality, and cost control.
  • Train, coach, and supervise employees for optimum performance.
  • Promote a positive working atmosphere for employee development.
  • Conduct interviews, monitor performance, and implement disciplinary procedures.
  • Prepare employee performance reviews and recommend salary increments.
  • Support reward and recognition program

Education and Work Experience

Business & Productivity Software

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Plastic Manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Husky Machines.
