About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Associate to support the delivery of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives across the firm and for our clients.
The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of sustainability strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate responsibility objectives, stakeholder expectations, and global best practices.
Key Responsibilities
ESG Advisory and Project Support
- Support ESG and sustainability advisory projects, including assessments, strategy development, carbon footprinting, and reporting.
- Assist in the development of client proposals, presentations, and reports.
Research and Regulatory Monitoring
- Conduct research on ESG frameworks, including GRI, IFRS S1/S2, TCFD, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Monitor sustainability-related regulatory developments in Uganda and the wider region.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Collect, verify, and analyze ESG-related data.
- Support the development of ESG KPIs, metrics, and dashboards.
Reporting and Disclosure
- Assist in preparing ESG reports aligned with international standards and frameworks.
- Support responses to client ESG questionnaires, tenders, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Internal Sustainability Initiatives
- Support the integration and embedding of sustainability initiatives across the firm.
- Assist with awareness programs, internal training, and sustainability reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders on sustainability-related activities.
- Support workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Development Studies, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, consulting, auditing, or a related field.
- Experience within professional services, consulting, or the development sector is highly desirable.
Core Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills
- Understanding of ESG frameworks, including GRI, SASB, TCFD, and IFRS Sustainability Standards.
- Knowledge of climate change and carbon accounting principles.
- Strong Excel skills; Power BI proficiency is an added advantage.
Professional Skills
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking ability.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Behavioral Competencies
- Proactive and curious mindset.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passion for sustainability and creating positive impact.
Desirable Attributes
- Exposure to ESG reporting or sustainability consulting.
- Experience working with NGOs or development agencies.
- Knowledge of Uganda’s ESG and sustainability landscape.
- Relevant certifications such as GRI, CFA ESG, or climate-related courses are an added advantage.

Success in this role will be measured through:
- Timely delivery of ESG and sustainability project outputs.
- Quality, integrity, and accuracy of ESG data and reporting.
- Contribution to client engagements, proposals, and business growth initiatives.
- Active support for internal sustainability programs and culture-building initiatives.
- Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
