Company Description

enjuba is a children's education organization focused on improving literacy, numeracy, and self-regulation in Ugandan children through early childhood programs, storybooks, and spelling bees. We implement these programs in rural public and community schools across Eastern Uganda, with a mission to nurture a generation of readers, thinkers, and responsible citizens.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kasangati for an ACE Monitor (Teacher). The ACE Monitor will play a vital role in supporting learners through the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) program a Bible-based, individualized learning system that nurtures both academic excellence and Christian character.

The Monitor will guide students through their PACEs, provide academic assistance, maintain classroom order and discipline, assess progress, and ensure each learner grows in knowledge, skills, and spiritual maturity. The role demands a balance of classroom management, mentorship, and a genuine heart for both teaching and ministry.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Education or related field.

Prior experience teaching in an ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) environment or a willingness to be trained in the system.

Strong grasp of ACE philosophy, individualized learning, and self-paced instruction methods.

Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.

Ability to mentor, motivate, and spiritually nurture young learners.

Proficiency in record-keeping and use of academic tracking systems.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable Qualifications

ACE training or certification (e.g., Supervisor or Monitor training).

Familiarity with the ACE Score Card system and performance evaluation processes.

Experience in a Christian school or ministry-based education setting.

Knowledge of child development and differentiated instruction.

Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.

Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.

  • Facilitate daily learning within the ACE Learning Center, guiding students to set, track, and complete their academic goals.
  • Supervise learners as they work through their PACEs (Packets of Accelerated Christian Education), ensuring understanding and mastery of concepts.
  • Conduct academic checkups, score tests, and maintain accurate learner records according to ACE procedures.
  • Create a disciplined, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment that promotes moral and academic growth.
  • Provide individualized academic and spiritual support to each learner, fostering confidence and self-motivation.
  • Monitor learner progress, identify learning gaps, and communicate timely feedback to parents and administrators.
  • Prepare learners for PACE tests and other evaluations, ensuring they meet learning objectives and timelines.
  • Integrate Biblical principles into all areas of teaching and uphold Christian values in word and conduct.
  • Participate in staff devotions, trainings, and meetings to continuously improve teaching and learning outcomes.
