Advocate for Community Development and Environmental Protection (ACODEP) is recruiting for an upcoming multi-sectoral initiative focused on women’s participation in environmental peacebuilding, climate action, GBV/SGBV prevention, human rights protection, and environmental justice.

AGRICULTURE EXTENSION OFFICER

2 Positions | 1-Year Renewable Contract

Job Summary

The Agriculture Extension Officer will provide technical support and extension services to communities and farmers to improve agricultural productivity, resilience, and sustainable farming practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide agricultural extension and advisory services to farmers.
• Train communities on sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices.
• Support farmer groups and community-based agricultural initiatives.
• Promote soil, water, and natural-resource conservation.
• Support adoption of improved agricultural technologies and practices.
• Conduct field visits and provide technical guidance to farmers.
• Identify agricultural challenges and recommend practical solutions.
• Support women's and youth participation in agricultural activities.
• Maintain records of extension activities and beneficiaries.
• Support monitoring and reporting of agricultural interventions.
• Collaborate with local authorities and agricultural stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or a related field.
• Experience providing agricultural extension services is an advantage.
• Knowledge of climate-smart and sustainable agriculture.
• Strong community mobilisation and training skills.
• Willingness to work extensively in the field.
