Established in 2014, the ICT Association of Uganda (ICTAU) is a private sector-led organization bringing together all players (individual and corporate companies) within the ICT Sector in Uganda. It was formed with a vision to contribute to Uganda’s technological development by organizing key ICT stakeholders under one umbrella body capable of supporting/promoting ICT awareness, research, and advocating for projects and policies concerning the adoption and usage of ICTs by the underserved and unreached in Uganda

JOB SUMMARY

This is a voluntary role that covers all expenses. The CEO oversees all operations, functions and activities. He/she is the face of the organisation, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and leading the organisation towards the realisation of its mission. CEO’s main duties include: collaborating with the company’s leadership team, implementing strategic plans for the company’s development and managing relationships with stakeholders

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

  • Collaborate with the board of Directors to identify, create and implement strategic plans to actualise business objectives.
  • Identify, recruit, train and develop a talented team of employees who can lead critical departments and manage strategic business functions.
  • Monitor company operations and ensure employees and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Develop the organisational culture and promote transparency and collaboration throughout the organisation.
  • Develop partnerships with company stakeholders, shareholders, industry regulators and other relevant parties.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities within the organisation and its environment to protect business interests.
  • Identify potential sources of investment and organise fundraising efforts.
  • Represent the company at social and corporate events in ways that strengthen the brand and communicate the company’s message.
  • Review reports by subordinate managers to acquire an understanding of the organisation’s financial and non-financial position
  • Devise remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management when necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or relevant field (Optional)
  • Degree in an IT – Related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in a Senior Management position

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including work with the media
  • Demonstrated senior leadership and management skills in fostering teamwork, motivating others, managing organisational change, developing, and sustaining strategic partnerships
  • Customer-centric.
  • Business acumen and financial skills.
  • Analytical and risk management acumen.
  • Good decision-making, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Networking skills, tact and diplomacy, with the ability to influence key people.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively engage various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and exercise excellent judgment.
