JOB DETAILS:
Canteen Attendant
Salary: UGX 150,000 per month
Gender Requirement: Female
Job Purpose
The Canteen Attendant will assist with the preparation, serving, sale, and general management of food and refreshments while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and refreshments to pupils and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen and food preparation areas.
- Assist with basic food preparation as required.
- Serve portions appropriately and maintain good presentation.
- Handle food safely and observe proper hygiene practices.
- Keep utensils, equipment, counters, and serving areas clean.
- Monitor food and beverage supplies and report shortages.
- Assist with receiving and storing food supplies.
- Minimise food wastage and maintain proper storage practices.
- Handle cash or payments responsibly where required.
- Maintain a friendly and respectful attitude towards pupils and staff.
- Follow school food safety, health, and safety procedures.
- Perform other canteen-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a canteen, restaurant, school, hotel, or similar environment is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling.
- Good personal hygiene and cleanliness.
- Friendly, reliable, honest, and hardworking.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
