MU-JHU Care LTD | MU-JHU Research Collaboration

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

A degree in Social or Community Work, Social Sciences, Counselling, Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 2 years’ experience in a busy research institution. Prior working experience with adolescents would be an advantage. The applicant should be dynamic, flexible (willing to work long hours and weekends whenever need arises), computer literate, with good communication & interpersonal skills. Fluency in Luganda is required. Applicants with a Medical background and ability to ride a motorcycle will have an added advantage.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Map and engage community-based stakeholders and service providers relevant to the proposed study populations
  • Support community engagement throughout the study cycle
  • Lead community-based study preparation activities such as contacting various stakeholders, laying groundwork for study recruitment, community sensitizations/ mobilizations, screening visits and disseminations of study findings.
  • Nurture strong relationships with and respond to enquiries from key stakeholders
  • Plan, develop and implement local dissemination strategies
  • Participate in other cross cutting activities to support community engagement across the research cycle at MUJHU (Mityana/Mubende district) together with the community team.
  • Maintain professional GCP/HSP accreditation and complete study specific training as required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
