We are an education organisation working to improve foundational learning for children across Uganda through teacher coaching, books and a structured curriculum. Data is central to how we work. We use it to track implementation, measure impact and decide how to improve and scale our programmes.

About the role

We’re looking for a Data Analyst to turn our programme data into clear, reliable insights. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Impact & Programs, you’ll help teams understand how learners are progressing, how teachers are performing and where our programmes need attention.

What you’ll do

  • Manage and assure data quality: collect, clean, validate and maintain programme and operational datasets, and set up standard procedures and documentation.
  • Analyse and interpret: study learner assessment results (literacy and numeracy), teacher coaching data and programme performance across schools, districts and reporting periods.
  • Build dashboards and reports: develop and maintain dashboards, and prepare reports and presentations for management, programme teams and donors.
  • Support MEAL: work with the MEAL and Coaching Coordinators on indicators, data collection tools, and baseline, midline and endline analysis.
  • Improve systems: strengthen digital data tools, automate routine reporting and train staff on data quality and interpretation.
  • Protect data: handle school, teacher and learner data confidentially and responsibly.

What we’re looking for

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, IT, M&E or another quantitative field
  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, data management, research or M&E
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning)
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
  • A proven ability to analyse data and write clear, actionable reports

Added advantage

  • Experience in education, NGOs or the social impact sector
  • Experience analysing learner assessment, school performance or teacher coaching data
  • SQL, Python or R
  • KoboToolbox, ODK or other digital data collection platforms
  • Familiarity with MEAL frameworks

You’ll thrive here if you are…

Analytical, detail-oriented and organised. You can explain numbers to non-technical colleagues, you take data integrity seriously and you like making systems work better.
