A global leader in humanitarian assistance, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. The IRC has been working in Uganda since 1998 supporting lDPs, refugees and local communities and the current country program portfolio includes health, protection and rule of law, women's protection and empowerment, and economic recovery and development programming. The IRC has its country office in Kampala and field offices in Yumbe, Arua, Lamwo, Moroto and Kyegegwa.
The International Rescue Committee seeks to recruit a qualified individual to fill the position of Deputy Director of Operations, who will be based in Kampala. .

The Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) plays a key role in the overall leadership and management of the IRC Uganda program. Reporting to the Country Director and as a member of the Senior Management Team, the Deputy Director of Operations is expected to contribute to organizational strategic thinking, planning, and overall coordination efforts. The role works closely with the Finance Controller, HR Coordinator, Deputy Director of Programs, and provides oversight and guidance to the Field Coordinators based in the various field offices. The DDO is responsible for ensuring that all the necessary systems, policies and procedures are rolled out, understood, and implemented by the relevant staff in all program areas. in addition he/she ensures that the Country Director is briefed on security and safety incidents and general advice on security policies and procedures.
