Background

Our client in the fintech industry is a fast-growing, innovation-driven organization operating at the intersection of technology, financial inclusion, and digital transformation. The organization seeks to strengthen its core technology leadership and delivery capability by filling the following key role: DevOps Engineer/Systems Administrator. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design, scaling, and resilience of mission-critical fintech platforms in a dynamic and high-impact environment.

Role Summary

You will play a key role in the information management system. You will be responsible for maintaining the computer systems of the company including server management. (Installing, maintaining upgrading and backing up servers as well as securing them from unauthorized access.)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Your duties are wide-ranging; you will be charged with installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. Other duties may include;

• User administration (setup and maintaining accounts)
• Monitor system performance
• Create a backup and recovery policy
• Monitor network communication
• Implement the policies for the use of the computer system and network
• Set up security policies for users.
• Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with systems.
• Perform routine audits of systems and software.
• Troubleshoot any reported problems.
• Ensure that the network infrastructure is up and running.
• Choose the best tools and technologies the team requires to meet the business needs.
• Manage and automate the software deployment process from developers to production systems by use of tools such as Git, Jenkins etc.
• Ensure optimal system configurations to manage cloud hosting costs
• Work together with the IT Team to ensure the resolution of among other issues, the database issues in regards to the Cyclos 4 system.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent knowledge of setting up and configuring network
• Extensive knowledge or proficiency in various programming tools and applications as well as multiple computer environments is a plus
• General security knowledge with emphasis on securing web-based applications
• Wide knowledge of Computer skills

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either of the following disciplines: computer science, information technology, engineering or mathematics
• A minimum of three years of experience in computer maintenance and hardware management

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Well-coordinated System installations and integrations with vendors and other stake holders.
• Server uptime as a result of proper maintenance
• Timely response to service outages.
• Proper set up and maintenance of accounts
• Proper and timely monitoring of network communications.
• Timely analysis of system logs and identification of potential issues with systems.
• Demonstrated evidence in ensuring optimal system configurations to manage cloud hosting costs
