The Digital Content Officer is responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing digital content across the company's platforms to enhance brand awareness, promote products and services, and drive customer engagement. The role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a strong understanding of digital trends in Uganda.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Content Creation
  • Develop and implement a content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing goals.
  • Plan, create, and manage engaging digital content for social media posts, videos, blogs, website articles, and newsletters.
  • Localize content to reflect the Ugandan and African market and audience behavior.

 

  1. Social Media & Platform Management
  • Manage daily operations of all company digital platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, Company Website).
  • Schedule and post regular content to ensure consistent brand messaging.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on digital engagement and performance metrics.
  1. SEO & Website Content
  • Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to increase web traffic and visibility.
  • Collaborate with IT and marketing teams to update website content .
  1. Campaign Support
  •  Plan and execute the company’s digital campaigns across product launches, market activity, and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to produce tailored content. 
  • Create on-the-go digital content, short-videos to engage with all ongoing company initiatives
  • Ensure all content is consistent with brand tone and voice. 
  • Maintain and update the library of company digital assets.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

3 years’ experience in content creation or digital marketing in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prior experience managing social media and web content platforms.
  • Knowledge of SEO, analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights), and basic CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).

 

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to use a camera to create original content
  • Ability to “follow-the- action” to create “on-the-go-digital-content” right where the action happens in all company activities, in the office, and in the field.
  • Engaging writing skills.
  • Highly organized
  • Comfortable with “all-things” social media (LinkedIn, X(Twitter), TikTok etc.)
  • Excellent collaborator and high energy
  • Highly conversant with Uganda’s corporate social media landscape.

 

Preferred:

  • Skillful use of cameras for both still and video content production
  • Ability to use video & graphic design / editing tools (Canva, Adobe Suite).
  • Deep understanding of social media dynamics
  • Ability to create engaging original videos and video mixing.
