Background
Our client, a Preschool in Kampala, is looking for an experienced and innovative Curriculum Coordinator to lead and support curriculum development across the Preschool and Playgroup departments. This is a leadership role ideal for an educator who excels in mentoring teachers, driving quality improvement, and ensuring that learning remains joyful, consistent, and aligned with their philosophy of “learning through play.”
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee curriculum planning, development, and implementation across all early years classes.
- Review and approve weekly class plans to ensure alignment with learning objectives.
- Provide mentorship and professional support to teachers.
- Monitor classroom instruction to ensure consistency, creativity, and high teaching standards.
- Lead teacher planning meetings and curriculum review sessions.
- Coordinate developmental assessments and ensure proper record-keeping and reporting.
- Identify training needs and organize professional development sessions.
- Collaborate with management on integrating co-curricular activities and special events into the curriculum.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in international curriculum including at least 2 years in a curriculum leadership role.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective early years curricula.
- Strong understanding of child-centered and play-based learning approaches.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to inspire and motivate teaching teams.
- Experience in implementing inclusive academic strategies
