Electrical Site & Precom-com Engineer at Alderia
Main accountabilities
Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, supervising the project field engineering activities and supporting in the precommissioning and commissioning electrical activities at Site.
- Operationally reporting to the Site Management team for site related topics.
The position being in back-to-back, smooth transfer and continuity of supervision activities shall be ensured with the back-toback position holder.
- The holder of the position will:
- Have a very good knowledge of the Project technical referential, Project detailed design and will be particularly agile in assessing
the compliance of the field engineering topics to the various project deliverables.
- Be familiar with the Project processes and organization to allow formal resolution of the field engineering issues;
HSE:
- The job holder shall undertake all activities he is responsible for, or involved in, with the highest level of consideration for HSE
risk management, protecting human health, respecting communities and preserving the environment.
- He will promote safety and environment awareness / conscientiousness at all levels through an exemplary and pro-active
attitude towards the Project team, the Contractor / Subcontractor and with all stakeholders.
- He shall ensure and promote the use of the Company rules and specifications throughout his activities to ensure compliance
with Project safety objectives.
Main activities
- Control and supervise the site / field engineering activities for electrical discipline carried out by Contractors in compliance with the approved design, applicable codes and standards
- To review and accept where required the field engineering and construction documents prepared by the contractors related toelectrical discipline. Follow up incorporation of such comments by the contractors.
- Provide technical support to the construction teams for engineering related topics in particular to ensure that construction risks are well anticipated and reduced as much as possible.
- To liaise with the Field Engineer on Site to ensure proper supervision of field engineering activities on Site.
- To liaise with Engineering centers where appropriate
- Ensure compliance of the Site modifications to the Project referential, requirements and applicable regulations and ensure of their formalization in the documentation
- Supervise and coordinate the proper implementation and resolution of the design change notices issued by the Contractor andSubcontractors
- Prepare the answer to the Site technical queries, so to avoid stand-by and delays by prompt responses for the Electrical Lead engineer validation.
- Provide support and clarification to the commissioning team in the preparation of the commissioning activities
- To ensure that, for his discipline and area, the quality is maintained and documented by the contractors
- To assess any requests by the contractor to deviate/change the approved design and make appropriate recommendation
- To check/monitor the progress of the work performed by the contractors.
- Provide assistance to other entities (Construction, Quality/QC, HSE, Commissioning, etc..
- To report on any problem encountered to the Lead Electrical Engineer and Construction Manager. To prepare the regular reporting information
- Contribute to the use of OPERCOM methodology
- Participate in the electrical pre-commissioning activities
- Contribute to the use ICAPS for the progress & punch list follow-up and their clearance
- Be vigilant on the safety aspects of the field engineering and report any anomalies noticed on site, in particular when related to
his discipline Context and environment
The Tilenga oilfields are partly situated in a protected National Park, partly beneath the river Nile wetlands area, and within densely populated area in a rural and remote part of Uganda. Activities exposed to the risk of major incidents with severe potential consequences due to local environment and important presence of NGO’s. Factory Drilling with a well delivered every 4 days using 3 drilling rigs simultaneously will necessitate standardization of equipment and procedures, strict enforcement of Drilling & Well instructions, safe and efficient logistic management on site. The project is focused on delivering the lowest possible cost, which requires challenging TotalEnergies design concepts as well as substantially challenging the Total Energies referential.
Multicultural environment: Contractors/subcontractors are anticipated to be located in various parts of the world. Ugandan rules and regulations, administrative requirements and technical authorizations as well as International codes for onshore plant willapply.
Accountabilities
The Senior Wellsite Geologist is responsible for:
- Ensuring on the rig site that all geological operations are carried out in strict respect of the HSE regulations
- Ensuring on the rig site that the operations are performed in accordance with the well objectives as defined during the WSOR process.
- Contributing actively to the well safety through proper implementation of real time detection techniques of drilling hazards.
- Ensuring an accurate and detailed reporting of all matters related to geological operations on the rig site.
- Assuring the pertinence, reliability and quality of the data collected on the rig site.
Actively participating to the technical development of the local professionals.
Qualifications/Experience required
The Service Provider must have the following qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent in electrical discipline.
- Significant experience of more than 10 years in electrical discipline in Oil & Gas Industry
- Site / Commissioning experience
- Team coordination experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of oil and gas production equipment, processes, and utility systems
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to work on their own initiative and proactively interact with discipline teams to obtain information.
- Must be able to react quickly and decisively to constantly changing demands and circumstances and be able to identify, analyze & solve problems within the scope of the role.
- Ability and willingness to effectively and robustly challenge the views of contractors and internal contacts.
- English mandatory.
- Valid Medical Certificate which complies with company Standards
