About the role:
As an Emergency Dispatcher, you will be calm in difficult situations, the voice of reassurance, and the first critical step in delivering emergency care- within minutes! If you're passionate about making a real impact and thriving in high-stakes environments, this might be your calling to join Rescue.
What You'll Do
- Be the first line of support: Assess emergencies quickly and send help quickly.
- Communicate with clarity and care: Act as the bridge between callers in distress and our emergency response teams, ensuring vital information is exchanged.
- Offer immediate support: Guide patients and callers with medical advice before help arrives, providing calm and life-saving instructions.
- Optimize emergency response: Use cutting-edge tools to track and deploy vehicles, ensuring we reach every patient as fast as possible.
- Collaborate with hospitals: Keep healthcare facilities in the loop about patient condition and needs, helping coordinate smooth handovers and admissions.
- Document the moments that matter: Log every emergency interaction on our platform to maintain transparency, traceability, and learning.
- Learn, analyze, improve: Use call and dispatch data to uncover trends and share recommendations to make our systems even more efficient.
Who We’re Looking For
We want professionals who are calm under pressure, strong communicators, fast thinkers, and deeply empathetic. You're someone who:
- Has a medical background (Paramedics, EMTs, Nurses, or Clinical Officers), or experience in emergency medicine, ICU/Critical Care, air evacuations, or crisis response roles.
- Has experience in emergency medicine, ICU/Critical Care, air evacuations, or crisis response roles.
- Knows how to make decisions in stressful situations.
- Is fluent in English and Luganda and can communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Is an active listener, picking up on everything relayed on a call.
- Can juggle multiple tasks while staying focused on what matters most.
- Brings customer care to every interaction.
- Is comfortable with tech and navigating new tools with ease.
- Can type at least 35 WPM, without looking at the keyboard (blind typing required).
Bonus points if:
- Have worked in firefighting, security, or other rapid response teams.
- Are certified in BLS (Basic Life Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).

- Meet the Team → You'll have interviews with our internal team to assess your functional fit, values, and how you work under pressure.
- Bootcamp (2 weeks, paid) → If you move forward, you’ll join us for an intensive, immersive, paid training and evaluation program (KES 1,300/day, at the end of two weeks). You’ll work in a simulated environment with our systems, tools, and team onsite.
- Final Decision → We select the highest-performing participants to join the Dispatch Team full-time.
