Background
Andre Foods International (AFI) is a registered National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) in Uganda, pivotal in supporting refugees and vulnerable communities. AFI focuses on a multi-faceted approach to address food insecurity, malnutrition, health, WASH, environment, gender protection, and research. The organization has established partnerships with the government, industrialists, and local communities and has engaged in humanitarian efforts for international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and UN agencies.
AFI is actively seeking for an experienced and qualified candidate to fill the position of Finance and Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Process payment requests, retirements and petty cash transactions for trainings, ToTs, joint monitoring missions and coordination meetings, in line with AFI finance policies and WFP donor requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate cashbooks, payment vouchers, ledgers and supporting documentation for all district/sub-office transactions under the project.
- Support budget holders to track expenditure against approved activity budgets (training rollouts, Award Scheme, mobility support, coordination forums) and flag variances.
- Provide general administrative support, including correspondence, filing, scheduling and logistical arrangements for district-level trainings, ToTs, coordination meetings and the annual Award Scheme ceremony.
- Track delivery of project inputs (digital hardware, FSQ kits, manuals/toolkits) to district and school sites, supporting verification of receipt.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, or any related field from an approved, recognized and reputable academic institution.
- At least two (2) years of working experience in Finance and Accounting.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a MUST.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to meet reporting deadlines.
