Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a commercially driven and hands-on General Manager to oversee the overall growth, operations, and performance of the business.
The person is responsible for driving commercial growth, strengthening operational execution, managing key stakeholder relationships, and ensuring strong financial and organisational performance across the company.
The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with practical execution and must be comfortable operating within a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead overall business growth and commercial performance
  • Drive sales, business development, and strategic partnerships
  • Oversee pricing, quotations, tenders, and contract negotiations
  • Manage key institutional, private sector, and government relationships
  • Oversee procurement, stock management, logistics, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure strong financial management including budgeting, cash flow, receivables, and profitability
  • Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and strategic partners
  • Lead recruitment, staff management, performance management, and organisational development
  • Drive new product introductions, market expansion, and brand visibility initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, Management, or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification or MBA is an added advantage
  • Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in commercial, operational, or management roles
  • Experience in diagnostics, medical devices distribution, healthcare, or related sectors is desirable
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability
  • Experience managing teams, clients, suppliers, and operational functions
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on where required
  • Experience with tenders, institutional sales, contracts, and structured commercial models is an added advantage

  • Cash flow and financial discipline
  • Operational execution and team performance
  • Product and market expansion
  • Institutional presence and brand visibility
