Location: 6 positions in rural western and eastern Uganda (with rotational travel to field sites)

Districts: Mayuge, Bundibugyo, Hoima/Kagadi

Start Date: Immediately

Salary Range: 400,000 UGX - 600,000 UGX

Job Description In the first few weeks, this role will focus on conducting organic inspections in the field. The auditor will visit registered farmers, interview them about their farming practices, and visually assess their farms for any organic non-compliances. After this initial period, the role will expand to include responsibility for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of LTC’s traceability systems and data collection processes. This includes conducting regular audits, verifying data integrity, and supporting continuous improvement in traceability and transparency.

Responsibilities:

● Visit farmers in the field to conduct organic inspections.

● Conduct internal audits of traceability data and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.

● Verify farmer purchase and registration data through phone surveys and unannounced field checks.

● Collaborate with field teams to enhance data collection methods and ensure data quality.

● Maintain and update traceability records, ensuring all data is current and accurate.

● Generate regular reports on audit findings and traceability status for management review.

● Support the development and implementation of new traceability initiatives and improvements.

● Ensure proper documentation and backup of all traceability-related data.

● Assist in preparing for external audits and certifications related to traceability.

● Provide training and support to staff on traceability procedures and best practices.

● Stay updated on industry standards and regulations regarding traceability and data integrity

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Data Analysis).

● Familiarity with mobile phone survey data collection.

● At least 2 years of experience in data auditing, data management, or a related role.

● While not a prerequisite, the ability to ride a bike is an advantage as travel between farms is required

● Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

● Proficiency in relevant statistical software and data management tools.

● Excellent organizational and communication skills.

● Fluent in spoken and written English.

● Proficiency in the local language(s) of the area of assignment.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Positive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning.

● Must not be involved in procurement or buying.

● Must have no attachments to existing employees or farmers.
