Tropical bank is hiring a Manager Marketing and Communications responsible for formulating and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications plans to support the achievement of the overall strategic objectives of Tropical Bank Limited.

Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Marketing & Brand Officer, Communications Officer

Responsibilities / Key Deliverables:

  1. Develop and oversee the implementation of the Marketing and Communications strategy.
  2. Lead the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, broadcast, and events.
  3. Develop and implement the Bank’s brand strategy, ensuring consistency across all marketing and communication materials.
  4. Regularly conduct market research to meet customers’ needs, make the Bank’s products competitive, and maximize profitability.
  5. Prepare annual budget plans and schedule expenditures to meet the Bank’s objectives and targets.
  6. Develop and promote external networks for business growth and create a compelling platform for associating with the brand in line with the business plan.
  7. Lead the preparation and dissemination of press releases and all public-facing communications.
  8. Manage media relations and guide internal communications, including updating the intranet and managing external communications.
  9. Plan, coordinate, and monitor the Bank’s advertisements and public awareness campaigns.
  10. Represent the Bank at a senior level for public events where necessary.
  11. Regularly monitor the media space, including social media, electronic, and print media, to ensure a positive presence and value for money.
  12. Create communication and marketing strategies for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
  13. Prepare the department’s Business Continuity Plan and ensure it is updated at least annually.
  14. Train, mentor, and motivate the marketing and communications team toward achieving agreed targets.
  15. Coordinate with external agencies, vendors, and consultants to enhance the marketing and communications agenda.
  16. Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and communication initiatives.
  17. Conduct performance reviews and provide guidance and support to team members to foster productivity.
  18. Plan, review, and monitor the implementation of brand building and consolidation strategies and submit regular compliance reports.
  19. Manage marketing budgets and resources to ensure effective campaign execution and Return on Investment.

Financial Responsibility:

  • In charge of the Marketing & Communications budget and targets.

Person Specification: Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • A Master’s degree in Marketing or related professional qualifications such as CIM is an added advantage.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a marketing and communications role, with 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape.
  • Knowledge of Bank products and services and understanding of customer needs and behaviors to effectively tailor marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques, including social media.
  • Experience in comprehending and communicating complex financial information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling messages and managing public relations.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools to measure and optimize digital campaigns.
  • Experience in managing brand reputation and ensuring consistency across all channels.
  • Ability to conduct market research and use insights to tailor marketing strategies.
  • Ability to generate innovative marketing ideas and campaigns.
  • Experience in handling brand crises and reputation management.
