About Impala Healthtech Research Limited

We are a mission-driven company developing and supporting digital health tools for better healthcare delivery across Africa (impalaresearch.com). Our flagship platform, DIGAMS - Digital Antimicrobial Stewardship System (digamsapp.com), supports healthcare providers in delivering smarter empiric treatment and accessing microbial confirmatory and antimicrobial susceptibility tests, particularly in low-resource settings.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and creative Marketing Intern to support the visibility, adoption, and engagement of DIGAMS among clinics, hospitals, labs, and health sector stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with a background in public health, health communication, biomedical sciences, marketing, or related disciplines—especially those with a keen interest in digital health, AMR, and behavior change in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies to increase DIGAMS adoption.
  • Create compelling content (social media, blog posts, newsletters, brochures, short videos).
  • Support the development and dissemination of educational and promotional materials.
  • Conduct user profiling and segmentation to tailor messages to target audiences.
  • Engage users through digital platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, WhatsApp, Email marketing).
  • Track analytics and prepare short reports on engagement and performance.
  • Support field activities such as product demos, pilot onboarding, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct basic market research and competitor scanning.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree or current student in Public Health, Health Communication, Biomedical Sciences, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in digital health innovation and health systems in Africa.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and content creation tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience or training in digital marketing, social media analytics, or community engagement.
  • Familiarity with antimicrobial resistance (AMR) or health sector dynamics in Uganda.
  • Design skills (Canva, Adobe tools, Figma) or video editing is an added advantage.

What We Offer

  • Mentorship and exposure to cutting-edge digital health work.
  • Opportunity to work closely with a dynamic and interdisciplinary team.
  • Possibility of contract renewal based on performance and funding.
