JOB DETAILS:

Nursery English / Reading Teacher

Salary: UGX 350,000 per month

Job Purpose

The Nursery English/Reading Teacher will support young learners in developing foundational English language and early reading skills through age-appropriate, engaging, and play-based learning activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate English and early reading activities.
• Teach basic vocabulary, sounds, letters, pronunciation, and early phonics.
• Use stories, songs, rhymes, pictures, games, and other activities to develop language skills.
• Encourage children to communicate and express themselves confidently.
• Support children's early literacy and pre-reading development.
• Monitor individual children's learning and developmental progress.
• Provide additional support to children who experience difficulties.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Maintain appropriate classroom discipline and routines.
• Supervise children and promote their safety and wellbeing.
• Communicate appropriately with parents and other teachers.
• Prepare and maintain teaching and learning materials.
• Participate in school activities and meetings.
• Perform other duties assigned by school management.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification or experience in Early Childhood Development/Education or nursery teaching.
• Good command of English.
• Experience working with nursery-age children is an advantage.
• Patience, creativity, warmth, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: associate degree
