Makerere University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for various academic, administrative, and support staff positions.
Responsibilities or duties
Produce and distribute learning, instructional materials as well as disseminate research outputs.
- Coordinate pre-press activities i.e. receive, review and produce camera ready copies of manuscript for publication;
- Coordinate the publication of journals hosted at Makerere University;
- Coordinate the production of scholarly books authored by Makerere staff;
- Coordinate the distribution of learning and instructional materials;
- Identify and coordinate with marketing outlets for scholarly materials produced by Makerere University Press including the Makerere University Library;
- Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the Director from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (Publishing).
- An honors Bachelors Degree in Library and Information Science.
- Supervisory skills;
- Ability to build, lead and work with teams;
- Computer literacy; Interpersonal and communication skills;
- Quick judgement and decision making;
- Ability to initiate change
Experience needed
Minimum of the three (3) years relevant working experience.

Tenure of Appointment: 4-year contract
