Our work focuses on building resilience, improving livelihoods, and driving social and economic transformation in rural Uganda.

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Resource Mobilisation Officer to join our growing team in Masaka.

Role Summary

The Resource Mobilisation Officer will play a key role in ensuring RDF’s financial sustainability and growth. The officer will lead efforts to identify, secure, and manage funding opportunities, build and maintain donor and partner relationships, and strengthen RDF’s capacity to attract investments.

This position requires creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to engage a diverse range of donors, partners, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Resource Mobilisation & Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilisation strategy aligned with RDF’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities from government agencies, international donors, NGOs, corporations, and foundations.
  • Support long-term financial planning to ensure RDF’s sustainability.

2. Donor & Partner Engagement

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and progress reports to secure funding.
  • Represent RDF at meetings, conferences, and networking events.

3. Proposal Writing & Fundraising

  • Lead the preparation of grant proposals, sponsorship requests, and funding applications.
  • Ensure all submissions meet donor guidelines and organisational standards.
  • Coordinate with program teams to develop accurate budgets and project designs.

4. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance

  • Track all fundraising activities and report progress toward resource mobilisation targets.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Maintain an updated donor and funding database.

5. Organisational Development & Investment Readiness

  • Conduct internal assessments to strengthen RDF’s financial management, governance, and operational systems.
  • Develop business models, investment proposals, and organisational profiles showcasing RDF’s impact and scalability.
  • Work with management and program teams to develop innovative financial products and partnerships.

6. Outreach, Advocacy & Events

  • Plan and organise outreach activities, workshops, and events to promote RDF’s mission and programs.
  • Engage the community, corporate sector, and development partners to build visibility and support.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, resource mobilisation, or partnership development (preferably in the NGO or development sector).
  • Strong proposal writing, budgeting, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with creativity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to RDF’s mission and values.

Plot 20 Birch Avenue, Kizungu, Masaka

(Preference will be given to candidates residing in or willing to relocate to Masaka.)
