ROLE: Sales Engineer – Power Solutions (Uganda)

The primary responsibility of this role is to drive sales growth, market development, and customer engagement for Power solutions—including portable air compressors, generators, light towers, dewatering pumps, and related aftermarket offerings. The Sales Engineer is responsible for building strong customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, and achieving revenue and profitability targets in Uganda.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for portable air, power, and flow products to grow market share in Uganda.
  • Identify, prospect, and convert new customers across construction, mining, rental, manufacturing, oil & gas, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Promote the full Power solutions portfolio, including compressors, generators, pumps, light towers, and accessories.
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions with customers to create demand and close sales.
  • Prepare and submit quotations and follow up to ensure conversion into purchase orders.

Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand needs, gather market intelligence, and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maintain an updated customer database and sales pipeline.

Product & Technical Support

  • Provide accurate technical advice and support customers in product selection.
  • Collaborate with the service team to ensure proper commissioning, product training, and after-sales support.
  • Collect customer feedback and report on product or market issues.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and market developments.
  • Provide monthly sales forecasts and detailed market insights into management.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to organizational sales processes, commercial guidelines, and ethical business standards.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related fields).
  • 2–5 years’ experience in industrial equipment sales—preferably compressors, generators, pumps, or construction equipment.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Handson technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build rapport across diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel within Uganda as required.
  • High integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Safety focused and compliant with company and customer HSE standards.
