Job Title: Sales Manager – Concrete Admixtures

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Reporting to: General Manager / Country Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead the growth of the company’s Concrete Admixtures business in Uganda. The role will focus on driving sales through project specification, ready mix concrete engagement, infrastructure development, contractor support, and strategic customer relationship management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting admixture technologies to ready mix producers, contractors, pre-cast manufacturers, infrastructure projects, consultants, and government stakeholders. The role requires strong technical understanding of concrete technology combined with commercial and market development capability.

The position will play a key role in establishing the company as a leading admixture solutions provider in Uganda’s growing construction and infrastructure market.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Project Sales

  • Develop and grow the concrete admixture business in Uganda.
  • Identify and target major infrastructure, commercial, industrial, residential, and pre-cast projects.
  • Build a strong project pipeline through engagement with consultants, contractors, ready mix producers, and government agencies.
  • Develop relationships with batching plants, pre-cast manufacturers, EPC contractors, and infrastructure contractors.
  • Promote value-based admixture solutions that improve concrete performance, productivity, durability, and cost-efficiency.

Ready Mix & Concrete Industry Development

  • Establish strong relationships with ready mix concrete producers and concrete contractors.
  • Support customers in optimising concrete mix designs, production efficiency, and quality performance.
  • Promote advanced admixture technologies including superplasticisers, retarders, accelerators, waterproofing admixtures, and specialty products (fibres, shotcrete, curing compounds etc.).
  • Develop opportunities within large infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, rail, industrial facilities, and energy projects.
  • Support pre-cast and concrete product manufacturers with tailored technical solutions.

Specification & Technical Promotion

  • Conduct technical presentations, seminars and customer workshops on concrete technology and admixture solutions.
  • Work with consultants and engineers to secure specification approvals for MC admixture systems.
  • Provide technical support regarding concrete mix design optimisation, durability requirements, workability retention, and performance enhancement.
  • Coordinate laboratory trials, and performance testing with technical teams and customers.
  • Assist customers in troubleshooting concrete related issues including slump loss, cracking, setting time, and durability performance.

Commercial & Tender management

  • Monitor project opportunities, tenders, and market developments.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, pricing structures, and supply agreements.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with contractors, batching plant operators, and developers.
  • Ensure profitability targets and sales margins are maintained.
  • Follow up on quotations, technical submissions, and project approvals to secure business conversion.

Key Account Management

  • Manage strategic accounts including ready-mix companies, infrastructure contractors, pre-cast producers, and large developers.
  • Build long-term customer relationships to generate repeat business and preferred supplier status.
  • Provide ongoing technical and commercial support throughout project execution.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective coordination of supply, technical support, and after sales service.

Coordination & Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with technical service, laboratory, operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure effective project execution.
  • Coordinate product availability and delivery schedules with supply chain teams.
  • Support product launches and market development initiatives.
  • Assist in training distributors, sales teams, and customer technical personnel.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor competitor products, pricing strategies, and project activities.
  • Track market trends in concrete technology, infrastructure developments, and construction activity.
  • Provide regular pipeline reports, sales forecasts, and market intelligence updates.
  • Recommend strategies for market penetration and business growth in Uganda and wider East Africa region.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Chemistry or related field
  • Minimum five years experience in concrete admixtures, ready mix concrete, cement or construction chemicals industries
  • Strong understanding of concrete technology and admixture applications
  • Experience in project sales and technical solution selling
  • Strong network within ready mix concrete producers, contractors, consultants, and infrastructure sectors in Uganda
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentations skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer relationship management capability
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple project opportunities
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Uganda
