We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Business Studies Teacher to join our Secondary School team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Business Studies from Key Stage 3 (KS3) to IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). The role requires a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, fostering student growth, and inspiring students to develop their skills and knowledge in the dynamic field of business.
The ability to offer a second subject would be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in Business Studies for students in KS3 through to IB DP.
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum content that meets the requirements of the UK National Curriculum (KS3/KS4) and the IB DP Business Management syllabus.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to think critically, engage in discussions, and solve problems effectively.
- Use a range of formative and summative assessment techniques to monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the extracurricular programme by providing business-related enrichment activities and supporting business-related student initiatives.
- Support students in their personal, academic, and career development, providing guidance on university choices and business career pathways.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the subject area and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Collaborate with other teachers within the department and across the school to ensure consistency and coherence in student learning.
- Participate in school-wide activities, meetings, and professional development programmes.
Key Requirements
- A degree in Business Studies, Economics, or a related field (PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is highly desirable).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Business Studies, ideally within an international school setting.
- Experience teaching both the UK National Curriculum and IB DP Business Management is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the business environment, economic principles, and international business trends.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for lifelong learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the wider school community.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
