Background:
Welthungerhilfe (WHH), founded in 1962, is one of Germany’s largest non-governmental aid and development agencies. We have worked in Uganda since 1986, in partnership with the Government of Uganda, national and local NGOs, jointly improving the livelihoods of the most vulnerable population in rural areas through interventions that increase their Food and Nutrition Security, improve sustainable access to WASH services, innovative youth skilling and women’s empowerment programs in five regions of Uganda.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of WHH Uganda’s Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Strategy, ensuring alignment with global frameworks and national priorities.
- Conduct or oversee gender and inclusion analyses to inform programme design across agriculture, WASH, livelihoods, and skills development.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure gender-transformative and socially inclusive approaches are integrated into all projects.

- Master’s degree in Gender and Women Studies or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Natural Resource Management, Public Health, or a related field with substantial relevant experience.
- 7–10 years’ experience leading gender programming within international NGOs.
