Tropical Bank is hiring a Senior ICT Projects Officer to oversee and provide strategic leadership in driving successful ICT project initiatives of the Bank.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Take charge of providing technical oversight and ensuring delivery of the various ICT project components within approved budgets and in line with the Bank’s business requirements.
- Spearhead the process of setting project goals and devising comprehensive plans to achieve those goals
- Ensure compatibility and seamless integration of ICT projects with overall IT strategies.
- Provide and Maintain project timeframes, budgeting estimates, and status reports.
- Manage resources for projects, such as computer equipment and employees
- Coordinate project team members and develop schedules and individual responsibilities.
- Using project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence.
- Work with the line managers and the strategy team to develop comprehensive project plans outlining the scope, objectives, timelines, and required resources.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring optimal utilization of financial resources.
- Provide regular project status updates and reports, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Conduct project reviews and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Lead the implementation and integration of cross-functional IT projects.
- Identify potential risks and issues related to ICT projects and develop mitigation strategies
- Define a comprehensive program for the delivery of all ICT-related projects
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or any other equivalent field.
- A professional qualification Project Management e.g. Prince2 would be an added advantage
Experience
-
- At least 4 years of ICT experience, 2 of which should be in a senior ICT role, preferably in projects at a regulated financial services institution.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
- Ability to prepare product papers/business cases.
- Familiarity with the financial services industry in Uganda.
- Strong understanding and experience in digital banking services.

- Comply with AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures, non -compliance of which shall be addressed as per the bank disciplinary processes.
- Fluent in the English Language and any other local language, preferably Luganda, particularly for explanatory purposes to Bank customers who do not understand the English Language.
