JOB DETAILS:
Position overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Program Manager to join the small but mighty Yiya team. The overall objective for this position is to ensure Yiya continues to build and distribute a high-quality product which fulfills its educational mandate. The Senior Program Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and managing our programs, including direct supervision of staff, to ensure successful implementation and impact. They will ensure effective operations and foster key partnerships. This position requires exceptional leadership abilities, strong project management skills, supportive people management skills, and a passion to distribute innovative learning opportunities to young people who need them the most. The Senior Program Manager will work closely with the executive team, staff members, and external partners to drive programmatic excellence and achieve Yiya's vision.

Performance objectives
• Ensure that Yiya is creating and maintaining a high-quality user experience for Yiya learners.
• Project Oversight: Provide oversight and direction to project managers and program staff, ensuring projects are well-planned, resourced, and executed efficiently. Monitor progress, identify and address issues, and adjust strategies as needed. Create progress reports to submit to project funding partners, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and communications in line with funding contracts and guidelines.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term program strategies, goals, and objectives. Conduct research and analysis to identify new opportunities and evaluate existing initiatives.

Lead effective and responsible management of our UG-based team.
• Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage programs in line with the organization's strategic objectives. Coordinate program activities, timelines, KPI’s and deliverables across departments to ensure effective execution and measurable outcomes.
Team Leadership: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to program staff members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment. Encourage professional development and identify learning opportunities for team members.
• Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Collaborate with the finance department to develop program budgets and manage resources effectively. Monitor expenditures, track program expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure program activities adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Identify and mitigate program risks, implementing appropriate safeguards and controls.

Make certain that Yiya continues to adapt to the evolving needs of its learners.
• Impact Assessment and Reporting: Develop and implement program evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness and impact. Prepare regular reports on program outcomes, including qualitative and quantitative data, to share with stakeholders and support fundraising efforts.

Make sure that Yiya is well represented in the communities in which we operate, and globally.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, funders, volunteers, and community members. Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events, effectively communicating program goals and impact.
• Marketing and Communications: Increase Yiya’s visibility and brand recognition by contributing to the strategy and design of marketing materials such as social media, newsletters, and our annual report, as well as by attendance at events such as media coverage and conferences.

Qualifications & Experience
• Proven experience (5+ years) in program management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify innovative solutions.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and resource management.

Experience with strict financial reporting for large international funders preferred.
• Knowledge of program evaluation and impact assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements in the nonprofit sector.

• Experience and commitment to safeguarding vulnerable populations.
