Fracht Uganda is a Swiss International Freight Forwarder that has been in existence since 1955; with its headquarters located in Basel, Switzerland. Job Purpose
The Senior Sales Executive is responsible for driving aggressive revenue growth by acquiring new business, expanding existing accounts, and delivering high-quality logistics solutions. The role requires a highly proactive, target-driven sales professional with a proven client portfolio in freight forwarding, clearing, and transport services.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Aggressively pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding, customs clearing, transport, warehousing, and last-mile delivery.
- Grow revenue by meeting and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with market trends and company goals.
- Conduct prospecting, cold-calling, client visits, presentations, and negotiations.
- Prepare competitive sales proposals, quotations, and SLAs.
Client Relationship & Portfolio Management
- Manage and expand a personal portfolio of existing clients, ensuring repeat business.
- Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
- Conduct regular client reviews to identify needs and upsell value-added services.
- Act as a reliable escalation point for client issues, ensuring timely problem resolution.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
- Maintain an updated sales pipeline and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Use CRM tools to track leads, activities, and conversion rates.
- Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Documentation, and Finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
Industry Knowledge & Advisory
- Stay updated on logistics trends, competitor activities, and pricing structures.
- Guide clients on trade processes, Incoterms, routing options, customs procedures, and compliance requirements (URA, KPA, UCDA, UNBS, etc.).
- Recommend service improvements based on client and market feedback.
Compliance & Documentation Support
- Ensure all quotations, contracts, and client agreements comply with internal policies and industry standards.
- Assist clients in understanding required third-party documentation for import/export activities (Certificates of Origin, Phytosanitary, Port releases, URA processes, etc.)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in the same function within a logistics or freight forwarding company (mandatory).
- Must have an aggressive sales profile with a strong hunger for targets and revenue generation.
- Must have an existing portfolio of active clients that can be onboarded.
- Proven track record of high sales performance and exceeding targets.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics operations and international trade
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- High resilience, self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Revenue and gross profit achieved.
- Number of new clients acquired.
- Retention and growth of existing portfolio.
- Sales pipeline quality and conversion rates.
- Timeliness and accuracy of reports, proposals, and renewals.
Standard Working Conditions
- Office-based with frequent client visits.
- May involve occasional travel to port locations or client sites.
- Fast-paced environment with strict timelines and performance expectations.
