Across the world, eye health professionals work tirelessly. But they face huge challenges. Resources are scarce, specialists are in short supply, patients don’t arrive at appointments and outcomes can be hard to track. Many people with vision loss don’t know a solution exists or struggle to reach care. They remain invisible to health services.

Peek Vision is a social enterprise that works with NGOs and governments to bring vision and eye health to everyone. Our software and data intelligence platform strengthens health systems and optimises school, community and workplace eye health services. With Peek, eye health providers can identify gaps and inequalities in their services. People who would have been invisible to health workers or hard to reach are made visible, so that nobody is left behind.

By 2050, we aim to prevent 1.25 billion people from needlessly losing their eyesight.

Rapid assessments: Software and tools to help programme planners understand their populations’ eye health needs.

The Role

Millions of people worldwide are losing their sight unnecessarily. Join a mission driven award winning team who are intent on changing this. As a Senior Devops Engineer, you’ll join an award-winning team working on life-changing technology to improve access to eye care for underserved communities. Your work will directly influence the scalability and optimization of critical health services.

As part of a small, senior DevOps team, you will:

• Deliver impactful, full-stack solutions from mobile apps to cloud-hosted RESTful services.
• Leverage automation, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools to streamline the entire software delivery process
• Contribute to software design, development, and infrastructure in collaboration with product and technical teams.
• Support global deployments, driving innovation and scale in diverse settings.

5 Key Responsibilities:

• Translate requirements into robust, scalable software designs.
• Build, test, and deploy high-quality solutions.
• Support advanced troubleshooting (2nd/3rd-line support).
• Guide infrastructure provisioning and monitoring.
• Partner with product teams to shape solutions.

Your Skillset:

• Deep expertise in TypeScript (front and backend)
• Experience with Linux, containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record of the full software development life cycle in Agile environments.
• A strong advocate of automated testing.

Bonus Skillset:

• If you have any of the following skillsets it’s a bonus for this role:
• Proficiency in tools like Angular, NestJS, MongoDB, and Docker
• Experience with mobile frameworks (e.g., Cordova, Android).
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS, Ansible, Rundeck, or similar technologies.
• Experience managing infrastructure-as-code management with one of the leading cloud providers.

• Acuity Testing Tools: Implemented tools like the presbyopia calculator and near vision acuity testing allowing patient's near vision to be tested by anyone, anywhere using our mobile app
• WhatsApp Messaging: Decreased costs and improved accessibility for reminder services in our partners’ programmes
• Data Analytics Tool: Integrated reporting and data analytics using AWS Athena and Preset.io
• Automatic Updates for Mobile Apps: Developed automatic updates for our Angular hybrid mobile application making it a progressive application
• A/B Testing Implementation: Delivered tools for programme implementers which help drive better decision-making through data-driven insights.
