The Health Service Commission is responsible for the appointment, promotion, and disciplinary control of officers in the public health services. This advert is for Consultant positions in Emergency Medicine across various health facilities in Uganda.

Responsibilities or duties

As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will be responsible for providing advanced medical care in emergency situations, leading the emergency department team, training junior medical staff, and contributing to the development of emergency medicine services within the Ministry of Health.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent qualification, a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Emergency Medicine or equivalent, and a valid Practicing License from the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council. A Fellowship in Emergency Medicine is highly desirable. Applicants should also have a minimum of 5 years of post-internship experience in emergency medicine.

A minimum of 5 years of post-internship experience in emergency medicine is required.

1. Applicants are advised to:

• Fill Public Service Form 3 (PSF 3) and present it for oral interviews.
• Secure a scanned passport size photograph (JPEG format).
• Scan and attach only the relevant documents.
• Create an mail address in case you do not have one.

2. Required Documents include the following:

• Academic and professional certificates (UCE, UACE, Professional Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees, Fellowships).
• Evidence of training in specialized areas where applicable.
• Letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion where applicable.
• Registration certificates and valid practicing licenses for Health Workers who are required by law to register with relevant Professional Councils.
• National and current Institutional Identity Cards.
• Attached documents should not exceed 1 MB.

When uploading, priority should be given to only the required documents as per the job specifications. Shortlisted applicants will have the opportunity to present additional relevant documents during oral interviews.

4. It is emphasized that:
