JOB DETAILS:
The USAID funded PMI VectorLink Uganda Project supports the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) in the planning and implementing IRS program with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria in 15 districts in Lango region and eastern Uganda. The project implements IRS programs through cost effective commodity procurement and logistics system and access to technical expertise in other countries affected by malaria.
Abt Associates seeks qualified candidates for the PMI Vectorlink Project’s operations in Uganda. Brief descriptions and qualification requirements for vacant positions are also listed below.
Post: District Coordinator
Performs programmatic and management oversight for all aspects of the project’s spray operations, including campaign planning, technical assistance and training, logistical and operational support and supervision, and activity tracking and reporting. S/he will coordinate closely with government counterparts, and oversee the activities of project field staff and seasonal spray teams. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Community Health, Environmental Health, Entomology, or other relevant field and 3+ years of experience in vector control and IRS. In-depth knowledge of regulatory and operational aspects of insecticide use and management.
