Job Summary: The Human Resources Officer (E-Commerce) will be responsible for supporting the full range of human resource functions within the e-commerce business unit, ensuring that the company attracts, develops, and retains talent suited to the fast-paced, tech-driven digital environment. The Human Resources Officer (E-Commerce) will also focus on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and HR administration tailored to e-commerce operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Support end-to-end recruitment for e-commerce roles such as digital marketers, logistics officers, customer service agents, and fulfillment staff.
  • Develop and post job adverts, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding and orientation of new employees to ensure quick integration into the e-commerce culture and systems.

Employee Relations & Welfare

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
  • Promote a positive work environment that supports employee engagement and productivity.
  • Manage employee grievances, disciplinary cases, and conflict resolution in line with HR policies.

Performance Management

  • Support the implementation of performance appraisal systems specific to e-commerce KPIs (e.g., order processing time, customer satisfaction, digital campaign outcomes).
  • Track and report employee performance and assist in identifying training or coaching needs.
  • Collaborate with line managers to ensure performance objectives align with business goals.

 Learning & Development

  • Coordinate training programs focused on digital skills, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify capability gaps within the e-commerce team and recommend targeted interventions.
  • Maintain accurate training records and evaluate the impact of learning initiatives.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date employee records (contracts, leave, attendance, etc.) in both physical and digital formats.
  • Ensure HR operations comply with labor laws, company policies, and data protection standards.
  • Prepare regular HR reports and metrics relevant to the e-commerce business.

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives suited for hybrid or remote work environments.
  • Promote the company’s values, culture, and employer brand within the e-commerce space.
  • Support internal communication to enhance team alignment and morale.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resource role, preferably within an e-commerce, retail, or technology-driven organization.
  • Experience in HR management processes for diverse teams, including remote or gig workers, is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and digital collaboration tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Adaptability to fast-changing digital and operational environments.

Barriers to Success in Role

  • Limited understanding of the e-commerce business model.
  • Inability to adapt to a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
