Background information about the job or company:
TO PROVIDE DAY-TO-DAY TECHNICAL SUPERVISION TO ONGOING PROJECT WORKS AND OFFER ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO ENSURE THAT MECHANICAL WORKS ARE BEING EXECUTED ACCORDING TO PLAN IN A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT IN LINE WITH OIL AND GAS QHSSE STANDARDS.
Responsibilities or duties:
- Work closely with other Project Engineers to ensure all Project objectives and key indicators are achieved in a safe manner
- Determine scope of work for individual projects, develop Mechanical drawings in-line with agreed design criteria, generate bills of quantities and draft cost estimates to support the processes of selection and project feasibility analysis
- Conduct structured risk assessments for Mechanical works and draw up plans for ensuring that the risks are proactively managed during the execution of Mechanical works
- Complete all necessary job assessments and/or permits, time sheets and other documentation as required
- Ensure all paperwork is available and that it has been reviewed and understood before setting out to Site
- Identify and address any changes to scope, investigate the problems and provide engineering solutions to support the planning and execution stages of the project
- Site walk-through and plan for installation process
- Record any changes to scope and “as build” drawings as agreed by line manager
- On-sight supervision/management of construction sites
- Actively participate in job inspections to identify and follow up to address non-conformities in-line with the technical quality recommendations
- Inspect and assess the condition of existing infrastructure and Develop maintenance plans
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s)
Qualifications or requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive & Power Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- A minimum of four (4) years working experience in the petroleum or manufacturing or in a construction industry in a reputable, and busy organisation.
- Registered Engineer with a valid practicing licence from the Engineers Registration Board.
- Experience in the application of Engineering Software like AUTOCAD, SolidWorks and Project Management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera.
- Experience in design and supervision of mechanical engineering works.
- Specialised training in Project Planning and Management is an added advantage.

- Coordination and Collaboration skills
- Ability to write, read and comprehend drawings and plans
