Background information about the job or company:
Makerere University, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is implementing the Africa Climate Collaborative from 2025 to 2033. The Program seeks to strengthen Africa’s preparedness and response to climate change by developing a critical mass of thought leaders capable of driving the continent’s transition to green and resilient economies.
Responsibilities or duties:
- Develop the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning framework and related tools for effective Program implementation;
- Prepare and monitor implementation of the annual work plans;
- Monitor and evaluate all program activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the Program output;
- Collaborate the Program database with the other Partners’ related databases;
- Co-ordinate periodic Program evaluation studies including mid-term and end-term review and consolidate learning from evaluation activities;
- Implement monitoring frameworks to track progress and assess the impact of the Centre’s initiatives;
- Monitor and evaluate Program Impact at Individual, Institutional and Ecosystem level;
- Compile and analyze data related to program activities, and prepare accurate, timely reports to support decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement;
- Monitor, identify and report any safeguarding concerns that may arise during the Program implementation;
Qualifications or requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Development Studies or Social work and Social Administration or Business Administration or Economics or Statistics or Education or Management Studies from a recognized institution
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Planning and Management from a recognized institution.
- An Honour’s Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies or Social work and Social Administration or Business Administration or Economics or Statistics or Education or Management Studies from a recognized /institution
Experience needed:
A minimum of 6 years’ relevant work experience, 3 of which should have been at the level of Assistant Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer.
