University Research Co., LLC (URC), a US
- based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is implementing the USA|D's Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in East Central Uganda Activity (USAID ‘s RHITES EC). The purpose of this project is to support the implementation of a comprehensive, integrated investment in regional health, HIV/AIDS and nutrition assistance. This five-year activity targets 11 districts in East-Central Uganda with an estimated total population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of quality health, HIVIAIDS, nutrition and child development services. URC is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions;

SENIOR ADVISOR FOR PMTCT AND PEDIATRIC/ADOLOESCENT HIV-Jinja (1)

Job Purpose: The Senior Advisor for PMTCT and Pediatric/Adolescent HIV will provide senior level strategic planning and technical leadership for PMTCT and pediatric/adolescent HIV programming to USAID RHITES-EC Activity teams, as well as the 11district local governments and their structures. The position holder will also build and effectively manage PMTCT/pediatric/adolescent HIV partnerships at various levels teams including the Ministry of Health, Development and Implementing Partner Networks, as well as within and across the EC region districts.

Job Specifications: The job holder should have:
Academic Qualifications:

• A Post-graduate qualification in Pediatrics, Public Health, Epidemiology or other related qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBChB)

Work Experience:-

• At least 5 years working experience working with PMTCT/pediatric/adolescent programs in Uganda or other developing countries.
• Experience with PEPFAR funded projects, including current and deep knowledge on pediatric, PMTCT and adolescent HIV programming is highly desirable.
• Significant and demonstrable experience collaborating, developing and managing partnerships with Ministries of Health/National Programs, District Local Governments, Communities, PEPFAR Agencies, NGOs, and/or other stakeholders in the relevant areas regarding alignment with national policies and strategic plans

Key Personal Competencies:-

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and team work skills with ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
