Role Overview

The Senior Medical Laboratory Technician supports diagnostic services by conducting laboratory tests and ensuring accurate, timely reporting of results. The role involves maintaining laboratory equipment, following quality and safety procedures, and contributing to effective patient care in a district health service.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, prepare, and analyze laboratory specimens using appropriate procedures.
• Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, records, and quality control processes.
• Follow infection prevention, biosafety, and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

Candidates should have relevant medical laboratory training and the ability to perform laboratory investigations with care, accuracy, and professionalism. Applications must be submitted in triplicate on PSC Form No.3 (2008 revised) to the Secretary, Nakaseke District Service Commission, P.O. Box 451, Luwero-Uganda, not later than 2nd December 2026. Applications should be accompanied by 3 recent size photographs of the applicant, photocopies of certified academic certificates, a copy of your CV, and other relevant supporting documents.

The application forms are obtainable from Nakaseke District Service Commission Offices, Farmers' House-Kampala or any District/City Service Commissions. Applications should bear the title of the post and reference number specified against each post. Serving Officers must route their applications through their Heads of Department, who should be informed of the closing date.
