JOB DETAILS:

PURPOSE
To perform routine duties involved in litigation and other legal processes and prepare a variety of forms and documents as may be instructed from time to time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Pick, serve and file all legal documents.
2. Assist in monitoring enactments of laws and regulations.
3. Prepare affidavit of service, briefs and reviews for use by the Authority.
4. Review briefs submitted to the legal department.
5. Receives and registers caveats and other documents for any land transaction, registration and maintains all pertinent records for Real Estate.
6. Conduct legal research for the legal department and write opinions based on research.
7. Follow up Court process in the Insurance Appeals Tribunal and other Courts of Law, and communicates with Counsel regarding case management and procedural requirements.
8. Assist with the maintenance of legal documents, research laws, Court decisions, documents or other information related to cases before Court.
9. Review pending litigation and maintain a diary for the Legal Department.
10. Carry out any other duty as shall be assigned from time to time.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. Compliance of the Authority to the Court and other deadlines.
2. Prompt registration of caveats and other land transactions.
3. Timely legal memoranda.

Qualifications

At least a Diploma in law.

JOB DETAILS:

PURPOSE
Assist in legal services provision in accordance with Authority's policies, procedures and the law.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist internal and external counsel by carrying out legal research and drafting of court documents including pleadings, submissions etc.
2. Assisting in the effective representation and followup of cases involving the Authority.
3. Assist in the de registration and winding up of dormant and non compliant insurance entities. 4. Assist in securing the approval of Chambers and acquisition of Practicing Certificates for members.
4. Assist in assessing the legal implications of the Authority's dealings with licensees and other operators who carry on business that falls within the purview of the Insurance Act and other pertinent laws and regulations.
5. Assist in the interpretation of and enforcement of the Insurance Act and other pertinent laws and regulations, as the need may arise.
6. Assist in the monitoring of enactments of laws and regulations and assessing their impact on the operations of the Authority.
7. Assist in the provision of legal advisory services to the Authority.
8. Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

JOB DETAILS:

PURPOSE

1. Attend to walk in and caller in's by giving the necessary guidance.
2. Assist in attending to Complaints including their registration, scheduling of meetings, making follow-ups, utilization of the automated complaints system, writing proceedings and decisions etc.
3. Assist in the generation of monthly, quarterly, annual and other complaints related reports. 4. Assist and participate in community sensitisations and other outreach activities.
4. Assist in assessing the legal implications of the Authority's dealings with licensees and other operators who carry on business that falls within the purview of the Insurance Act and other pertinent laws and regulations.
5. Assist in the interpretation of and enforcement of the Insurance Act and other pertinent laws and regulations, as the need may arise.
6. Assist in the carrying out of legal research and provision of legal advice to the Authority.
7. Assist in reviewing insurance proposals and policy forms.
8. Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
