Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Job purpose:
To manage banking activities of the organization by performing specified duties to ensure the achievement of organizational goals by overseeing the marketing activities of the bank thus improving brand visibility.
Responsible for driving marketing initiatives in the branch network, developing marketing strategies to drive business growth. Coordinating digital marketing for OBUL and fostering socially responsible corporate citizenship. Coordinating product development and promotion, communication and selling, through initiating processes leading to overall business growth and development.

Key Result Areas:
Strategic Planning

1. Design, implement, and facilitate the development of annual marketing plan for the bank.
2. Oversee the bank’s marketing strategy and its implementation in the market.
3. Plan and administer the bank’s Marketing Operations budget, support development of branch marketing budgets and promotion.
4. Work with the CEO, CRO and Management in conceptualizing organizational plans to strengthen market position and market growth,
5. Work with the CRO in preparing strategic business plans and overall marketing strategy.
6. Development of social media campaigns, and manage local uptake – including customer interaction (including customer complaints).
7. Analyze the effectiveness of online campaigns in real time by collecting data and producing reports required to evaluate the effectiveness of social media programs

Business mobilization
1. Support the business in bringing new leads by reviewing and supporting the branch’s local marketing strategy.
2. Design, implement, and facilitate the development of annual marketing plan for the bank.
3. Develop and implement suitable marketing strategies and approaches that ensure the bank meets its business growth objectives.
4. Actively participate in sales management including education of frontline staff and clients on company’s products and services, market and customer research activities.

Product development.
1. Champion brand awareness activities for the bank and its products and services i.e. selling the brand, promotions and campaigns.
2. Maintain a working knowledge of all company news and businesses to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information that meets business and corporate objectives.
3. Co-ordinate implementation of structured marketing campaigns and packaging of products and services to achieve sales and market share budgets,
4. Support the bank in developing a consolidated media strategy and identifying appropriate advertising agencies and media to implement the strategy.
5. Co-ordinate the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters, e-newsletters to promote the organization as a whole.
6. Develop, pilot, and document new business methodologies ensuring that the all products are aligned to the bank’s mission and vision of transformation.
7. Ensure a “buy-in” and involvement of all staff especially the product and cross-functional teams in new product/market development decisions. Shall be a member of the product development team.

Public Relations (Communication and External Affairs)
1. Develop and ensure maintenance of good media, government, and community relations,
2. Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organizations.
3. Develop and ensure that corporate standards and instructions are properly implemented and maintained organization wide,
4. Ensure publications and marketing materials are produced in line with the corporate guidelines,
5. Organizing and attending events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions.
6. Liaising closely with respective staff in tracking product awareness, perceptions, and needs relating to the products and services.
7. Ensure an effective communication strategy and approach including monthly newsletter and staff communications activities and events.

Customer care and service
1. Ensure an effective and professional image to the customer and an accurate portrayal of business strategies across all social media platforms.
2. Manage customer queries and resolve their complaints, organize and implement client relations including client satisfaction surveys and client development activities,
3. Establish and ensure the delivery of high-quality service standards to clients in responding to inquiries, requests, and issues, set and take corrective actions against significant deviations from set service quality standards.
4. Ensure customer complaints are adequately handled as per customer service charter.

Human Resources Management

Qualifications & Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
2. Professional qualification in Marketing (CIM), chartered marketer.
3. 3 years’ experience in marketing function management, at Supervisory level, having worked in a customer-oriented business organization.
4. Familiar with the news business and experienced in public relations, marketing and design and branding
