On behalf of our client FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE AUTHORITY, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to work in Uganda.

JOB PURPOSE

To assist in conducting routine Internal Audit engagements in accordance with laid regulations and guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
1. Prepare a risk-based audit plan for the Internal Audit for onward submission to the Manager Internal Audit;
2. Prepare draft quarterly audit reports for onward submission to Manager Internal Audit;
3. Evaluate internal controls to assess levels of audit risks and the appropriateness of risk management policies and procedures;
4. Follow up internal and external internal audit recommendations to the Authority Management;
5. Design and prepare audit programs to ensure achievements of the audit objectives; and
6. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
A. Qualifications

1. An Honours Bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration/Commerce or any other related degree with a bias in Accounting or a Full professional qualification in Accountancy or, Audit obtained from a recognized awarding body.

Experience
At least 5 (five) years working experience as an Internal Auditor in Government or an equivalent level of experience in audit work from a reputable organization.

Competencies
1. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
2. Knowledge of best practice; techniques and methodologies relating to Internal Audit;
3. Should possess values of the Authority which include; integrity, confidentiality, Accountability, professionalism.
4. Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
5. Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
6. Works well independently and as part of a team;
7. Results oriented;

JOB DETAILS:

General Summary
Appliance World Limited (AWL) is looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong financial analysis skills, possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Person Specification:

1. Must have ACCA as a qualification
2. Must be experienced with general accounting duties such as Bank Reconciliation, Statutory Payments (VAT, NSSF, PAYE, WHT), Debt Collection, Stock Reconciliation, EFRIS Invoicing, Recording supplier payments and Getting Them Paid, Generating LPO’s, Entering Stock Into Accounting System, Reconciling Customers Accounts Statements.
3. Demonstrate knowledge and experience with using Tally
4. Must have at least 3 years of experience with reputable organisations

Purpose
Provide support in coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the level of risk within IRA and in the Insurance Sector.

Duties And Responsibilities
• 1, Participate in the development of risk indicators and update the risk dashboard,
• 2. Review the risk management frameworks put in place by the industry players and provide guidance on their effectiveness.
• 3. Review risk management reports (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment, Risk Management Reports etc.) and provide technical guidance in risk management, 4, Continuously update existing actuarial models.
• 5. Participate in risk management surveys,
• 6. Monitor insurance companies compliance with the provisions of the Act in aspects such as capital adequacy/ solvency, investment etc.
• 7. Review new/modified insurance products, accompanying premium rates, Commission rates.
• 8. Carry out any other duties assigned from time to time.
